Well alright
I guess I'll see you on the other side
of this bridge above the waters of the river that divides
the distance souls that once were close but no longer intertwine
they unwind.
I can barely see
your face as it fades into my memory.
Still I swore I saw you sleeping
with your love beneath a tree
in a forest unfamiliar filled with faces young and free.
When i got up close a thought arose,
it became so clear to me.
This was not reality as you fade into the obscurity of a dream.
When I awoke
you were nowhere to be seen.
And round and round and round we tumbled down
to the sound of something lost that can't be found.
Was it ever there?
So give me evidence you still exist, as I sift through this mess up in my head.
Can't find nothing here.
Then suddenly I remember
that morning in September,
the morning that we met.
And we sung our song so softly
as people drank their coffee
and smoked their cigarettes.
And when we reach the end of the path ahead
in which we tread
well I know you'll be my friend,
and we'll meet again.
And if Chicago winters grow too cold I'll hit the road
you'll be the first to know
I'm on my way back home.
And I'll see you then, yeah I'll see you then...
